First electric garbage trucks for the Brabants Afval Team

Afbeelding

On 18 October, the Brabants Afval Team (BAT) in Tilburg put the first three fully electric vehicles into use. A great milestone on the way to zero emission waste collection by the entire BAT fleet. Ronald Schoo and Raymond van Zwieteren work together with colleagues from Royal HaskoningDHV in supporting the Municipality of Tilburg and the BAT in the tender for matching charging infrastructure.

Based on route information and consumption of collection vehicles, the future power demand has been mapped out. Subsequently, it was determined which type of regular chargers and fast chargers are needed to provide the collection vehicles with sufficient energy on a daily basis. Our project group is currently supervising the tendering of the required charging infrastructure. The plan is to have sufficient charging capacity available in Q1 2024 for all vehicles that are deployed within the Tilburg zero emission zone.
